Description

Let’s take a walk in the same places where myths were born. We will introduce you to the origins of storytelling, of both tragedy and comedy and explore how they evolved through time along art and sciences. You will see similarities and differences of myths through time and cultures and how they shaped and also got shaped by religion, clashes and technology.

Things you’ll hear

This tour is less about the things we will see but more about the stories connected to those places. We will just use our surroundings to inspire us and reveal some of the myths that involved them:

  • The showdown of Poseidon vs Athena for the city of Athens on top of the Acropolis Hill.
  • The creation of Lycabettus Hill
  • The Trial of the War of God, Ares.
  • The legend of Theseus and the Minotaur, and how the Aegean sea got its name
  • How Hades created the different seasons by abducting Persephone
  • The birth of Athena
  • The thunder that protected Lumbadiaris church

Additional Info

This is the perfect tour for people who love stories and hate plain boring information. We still get to walk around a lot of ancient sights and combine story-telling with sight-seeing. It is a more playful and engaging form of seeing the city and learning about its past

This is potentially family friendly but beware some of the myths are full of incest, death and explicit details so make sure you are ok with that. Make sure to book private for a tailored experience with myths for younger kids!

This tour is created for adults but its storytelling nature does make it way more fun and engaging for kids as well. Just beware, some of the myths are full of incest, death and explicit details so make sure you are ok with your kids being exposed to that. And just to emphasize, some of the myths in Greece are even worse than Game of Thrones. So remember to book a private tour for us to be able to move to a more, kid friendly direction.
