Did you have enough of the center? Did the traffic near Syntagma square or the crowded Monastiraki square take their toll on you? Do you like early mornings?
What if we told you that we could plan an escape together?
It might sound like a lie but in Athens lies a bike path, that all of us local cyclists use daily, that takes you away from the center and towards the sea.
Join us and let’s cycle together towards the sea through quiet residential areas, giving you a glimpse of the non-touristic side of Athens. We cycle alongside the tracks of the Athens-Piraeus light rail link, following also traces of the ancient Ilissos river and passing some residential areas of the city.
There we’ll encounter the brand new cultural center of the New Opera House and National Library Buildings designed by Renzo Piano, a WWII Warship turned into museum, luxurious yachts, beaches( yes there’s beaches in Athens) and a very beautiful seafront, you’d want to revisit every time you come to Athens.
You can expect between 8-12km of cycling, relaxed pace, plenty of short water breaks and the necessary extended coffee break in the middle of the bike tour.
